misinterprets written questions

Submitted by an LD OnLine user on

My 12th grade daughter, ADHD, slow processing, executive function issues has been failing most of her tests. She says she misinterprets the questions on the test wrong therefore she answers the questions wrong. Does anyone know what causes this and are there any remedies for it. She’s hoping to attend college next year, but her grades keep going down because of this.

Something that can be helpful, is using a coloured pen highlighter, to highlight the keywords in the question.
This helps to remember the key points in the question, that need to be answered.
Also writing the keywords, on another piece of paper can helpful as well.
