Research participants needed

Submitted by an LD OnLine user on

Hi - I am currently working on my Master’s Thesis and am comparing parenting stress in mothers of children in gr. k-5 with LD to a typical population and to a gifted population. I am in desperate need of some participants so I decided to post to this board.

If anyone would be willing to help my out I would be grateful. My research has been approved by the ethics board of the University of Alberta where I am studying and that information will be forwarded to you as well as access to my research when I have completed it.

Please message me at [email protected] for more information and to participate in a survey.

thanks so much

Barbara

Welcome bdbishop to LDOnline.

One reason you may not be getting as many responses is that many forum participant may not fit into your criteria of having a child currenty enrolled in k-5.

If you don’t get enough responses here you might also want to try posting over at Millermom. I know that there are a few members who have children in that age group: http://millermom.proboards.com/index.cgi

Best wishes on your research. We would love to have you share what you learn with parents on the board here at LDOnline and would encourage your conintued participation at LDOnline, as your career path unfolds.

Nice to have you.

Hi everyone!

Sincerely, I can see that many people have viewed my post. I need probably 25 more participants for my study which is no small feat :) I recognize that I am asking people I don’t know for their time. All I can offer is that with research that am doing, the potential benefits is for more recognition for families with children with LD, that support will be offered for parents. With more awareness, comes more support.

There have been a lot of people who have viewed my post. If half were willing to help me out with this study I would be tremendously grateful :)

Barbara
