I haven’t visited this site as often as I like. It’s been a busy year for me at work and our son took a year off after high school. Still, it helps me to know I have understanding people to share with and for many of you, I hope our story gives you hope and encouragement.
Yesterday, we took our son to college. He will live in the dorms and pursue a degree from a four year college. Getting him to this point has been a long and difficult task, but worth every effort. In special ed since first grade, gifted but with a severe reading disability, he has worked hard to accomplish his goals.
He was so anxious these last weeks and move in day was very hard for him. We have all done our best to make this a do able plan and now we need to be patient and see how it goes. It feels a lot like a space shuttle launch. Will it go? What if? Back up plans. and finally LAUNCH. So, like NASA scientists we will watch and see, but for now WE HAVE LIFT-OFF!
Thanks for listening.
