Re: Tuna Sushi from LA Restaurants Tests High for Mercury
Some most definately will, notably Cod Liver Oil. Some fish oil supplements are treated to specifically remove mercury, pcb’s and other toxins which are increasingly prevalaent in fish. I know Walmart has a brand on teh shelves which states as much on the bottle; there will be others that do likewise I am sure.
But perhaps we should not assume that the corporation which makes the “clean” supplements is being honest. If you know a couple of chemistry or bioscience majors you might have them test a few samples to see just how much is in them and whether those which are labled “clean” are in fact so.
Should you do this, please let us know what you find out.
So… I’m wondering… would fish oil supplements have mercury in them, too? Should I wander to the U and see if I can find a grad student…
