Vayarin

Submitted by an LD OnLine user on

My pediatrician just recommended Vayarin for my eight year old ADD daughter. We have done all the stimulant meds and have never settled on something that seemed to be right. This med has just been made available in NC, SC and TX. This is a food supplement, basically a prescription level Omega 3 vitamin. But it does have research to back up its claims! I am cautiously optimistic. Does anyone have experience with Vayarin?

Mary, I just looked up Vayarin where the difference is that they’ve added Phosphatidylserine to the Omega3. Which looks like a good combination, as the Phosphatidylserine increases the uptake of the DHA in Omega3.
Though Phosphatidylserine is also an essential building material for the nerve cells. Which has been well researched for quite a few years. Though most of the research has been into the benefits of the aging brain. But it does like it could be well worth trying with your daughter. Afterall, their are no safety concerns, as it is usually derived from soya beans these days.

What dosage was recommended?

Also, would love to hear your feedback after several months as to it’s impact for your daughter.
