colleges

Submitted by an LD OnLine user on

I am the parent of a high school junior with LD. We are looking into colleges with structured LD programs in the Midwest: the ones we have looked into so far are Loras College in Iowa, Muskingum College in Ohio, the University of Indianapolis B.U.I.L.D. program, and Lincoln College in Illinois. Does anyone have any specific feedback about any of these schools (especially Lincoln and Muskingum)? Also, my son’s ACT scores were very low - does anyone know if any of these schools - or others which may have open admissions - generally admit students with low scores? I would appreciate your feedback and am happy to share the information I have found out myself. I am a professional social worker, but despite my professional knowledge of this problem, I feel very alone. Thank you. Phyllis

I do know that a lot of LD programs *know* that ACT scores just don’t measure what LD students are capable of. Period. They look at all sorts of other things.
(They’re also aware of how much potential gets shuffled through the school systems.)
Brehm school also has a postsecondary program; have you checked it out?
