dyslexia amongst college students

Submitted by an LD OnLine user on

Hello,I am a freshman at the University of Arkansas @ Pine Bluff. I am currently working on a research paper in which my focus is on college students who suffer with dyslexia. I am trying to take both sides of the street in this paper to show the bad points as well as the triumphs of success being made while in school with studies. I would be most appreciative if anyone could please forward(email) me some information so that I can have a closer look at the situation by someone with more expertiece than I in the subject. Once again I do thank you for your time and effort. I can be contacted at [email protected].

: I would doubt much research exists on this topic but I could be wrong. For a start, you could get hold of J. Mooney’s book Learning Outside the Lines which, in part, speaks to the experience of going through college as a student with learning differences.: I am a freshman at the University of Arkansas @ Pine Bluff. I have a child that was just diagnosed as dyslexic, he is a freshman. I am preparing him now for college. There is a lot of research going on now and has been for years about dyslexia. Scottish Rite Hospital for children has done the most research. A lot of universities recognize the problem and offer help. You might check with different universities and see what they can give you. Texas Tech University, I have heard, works with students with this problem to help them succeed. Let me know what you find out. I am most interested in this topic.
