I’m a LD high honors student (though I wouldn’t get into MIT if I tried) who is going into their junior year of high school and is having trouble thinking of an appropiate college. I know there are a lot of good colleges out there, but what schools are good for Aeronautics/Aerospace engineering majors with Ld. Prefable I’m looking for a small school with a ratio under 20:1, tutorial (I know which will probably have to be paid privately for), and that allows extended time on tests. I haven’t had much luck through college search engineers. I live in Massachusetss, but I’m willing to go accross country to Canada if neccessary to find a school that would works. Thank you for any suggestion.

I do not know about the Aerospace, but I did hear from the parent of student with a disability that the engineering school and ld services at Northeastern University is quite excellent, as are the ld services. She told me that they are very thorough in the admissions process and that a personal interview is necessary. I have not verified any of this information. It should be easy for you to look into and it is in your home state.

Your task is not impossible at all! There are many good engineering schools that have wonderful support programs. Unfortunately I am no sure which of these schools have the aerospace piece but that shouls be easy for you to find out. These are all small to medium size schools.

I’d suggest you look at Rensselaer or otherwise known as RPI in Troy, New York. I’d also suggest Penn State although I wouldn’t call either of those schools small. RPI is by far the smaller of the two and it has a learning support center (for which you do not have to pay extra) and it does allow extra time on tests.
By law all schools are supposed to allow extra time on tests although it’s certainly true that some schools are more willing to support their LD students than others.

Though I’ll finish atleast Pre-Calculus and physics by the end of high school I know I might have to go to smaller school temporary to get some of the more common, but more advanced math and science classes out of the way. I’m mostly asking for suggestings beyond this, school with a strong specialization in aeronautics/aerospace engineering.
