My son, who was diagnosed with ADHD and LD in Elementary School, is now about to graduate from HS, and go on to College. For many of those years of public school we have been told there is “lots of money for LD students to go to college.” Well, the time has come, and following all the “suggested” avenues, have found none of this available money. His planned course of study is science education, and I might add, he has won awards for his expertise in computerization. Any suggestions on where to go to get financial aid for this student???

I have frequently been asked this same question. There is money available for students with physical or more apparent disabilities but there really is not much at all for students with LD. LD is not considered rare or so unusual as it was 15 years ago.
