Graduate school and scholarships?

Submitted by an LD OnLine user on

Do any of you know of any scholarships available either for learning disabled students who want to go to graduate school or people enrolling in a graduate program to teach learning disabled students?

Thanks for your time :-)

Hello:

The only scholarships that I could find when I was trying to obtain my bachelors were those for dyslexic and the blind. I remember looking up scholarship books and I just could not find anything for learning disabled students so I just stopped looking. Times may have changed and there could be scholarships out there for students who have a learning disability. Sometimes the particular school that you are applying to may have scholarships through some sort of scholarship office or through its disabled students services office. Sometimes those scholarships are only valid for currently enrolled students at that particular university.

With grad schools, you look for fellowships. Some grad schools offer small scholarships, but most everything is tied into the fellowships.

Check out the education departments of where you want to go and ask around.
