It has come to our attention that there are no (current or future) plans for
another annual NYS Inclusion Conference to be held again.
It would appear that Deputy Commissioner Larry Gloeckler (the
decision-maker) does not see this as a priority.

We are urging advocates in New York State to fax, and/or WRITE to the State
Education Department (SED) in large numbers to compel them to provide this
training to teachers and parents.

It is the SED’s responsibility to provide parent training and technical
assistance to schools; this conference has regularly provided both for
thousands of participants! This is an important part of furthering our
agenda for LRE to become a reality in New York State!!!!

Please take a moment to contact SED (and your local, state, representatives,
too) to tell them how important you feel this conference is!

This conference ends up costing the State VERY LITTLE since so much money is
raised in registration fees and conference presenters are not paid.
This very small amount of final cost is a great value for the
information/training that comes out of it!

INSIST THE STATE UPHOLD THEIR RESPONSIBILITY TO TRAIN FAMILIES AND EDUCATORS
IN CURRENT BEST PRACTICES OF INCLUSIVE EDUCATION FOR ALL !!!!
