Annual Review Testing

Submitted by an LD OnLine user on

PASSWORD>aabuvvryafXH2Hi. I was wondering if I can get some opinions on what testing should be done for annual reviews. Our school district has finally decided that annual testing is a necessary component in monitoring progress, and not just rely on triennials (Long story)! They have decided to use the Standford Diagnostic Test, since it can be administered individually and/or in a group, for annual testing and leave the Woodcock Johnson Reading Mastery for the triennials. The district has always done annual testing with my son (only due to my requests), and used the WJ Reading Mastery. So I am familiar with that, but not with the Standford. Can anyone tell me the pro’s and con’s about Standford vs. WJ Reading Mastery for measuring reading progress in a Dyslexic child? Is one more accurate than the other? Can the results be compared equally to the Reading Mastery when the time comes for triennials? Any other comments would be welcomed and appreciated!!! Thanks
