any experience doing VV with a child this young? He’s reading on grade level (first) I think. We have a Wilson tutor five days and week who also does Great Leaps and it has worked wonders.
My main concern is his ability to organize his thoughts to express himself coherently. His speech is so disorganized and he has word retrieval problems too.
I’m supposed to have him evaluated at LMB in 2 weeks but after some other feedback I’m thinking of canceling and waiting until after second grade when he’ll be a stronger reader. BUT if VV would help with the expression problems now then I wonder if sooner is better than later?
I don’t want to waste my money on the eval if I’m not seriously considering taking him there this summer (it is three hours away so we’d have to live away from home for the summer — kind of a big deal but I’d do it if it was worth it).
Any advice?
