There is no one method that is appropriate for all special needs students. The only appropriate way to teach special needs students is to design the instruction to meet the needs of each student.

Good question!

I believe that the most appropriate way is to not assume that there is only one way.

Each student is unique and different. Finding out each students unique giftings and teaching them accordingly is the best method.

The challenge then becomes having the tools and training to determine those giftings and be able to teach to those strengths.

So having materials that combine the tools and training is critical.
