Does anyone know what effect a low (13th percentile) working memory has on IQ score for an 8-year-old? A testing psychologist told us it does have an effect, but was unable to quantify the effect.

Working Memory is a significant component of Executive Funntions, often seen in quiet ADD.
Our school used the Kaufman Assessmnet Battery for Children 2nd edition evaluation. My son tested below average at 6th percentile for Short term memory. His score was 77. The average range is 85-115.
He tested below average on Long term memory at 4th percentile at the score of 73. His IQ score is below average at 74 which is the 5th percentile. The average range is 85-115. There is a 5-9 point variance on the test. It also states the test should be used for strengths and weaknesses and cognitive ability, by itself, is not a good indicator of how a student should achieve at school. I hope this information helps a little.
