For the purpose of research I need to locate schools where disabled children are attaining the assistive technology device or devices that they actually need?. For example, as a special education teacher, I was told, off the record, to simply indicate that a special needs student needed only low tech assistive technology devices on their IEP. What I need to know is whether or not there are regular schools (not schools with special education students only) where students are receiving and using the assistive technology devices that they need independent of whether or not the device is high tech or low tech. I live in Los Angeles, however any school that I could study would be fine.
