I am looking for a home math program for my 7th grade daughter. I would like a program focusing on number sense. Does anybody have any recommendations?

Hi Mary and welcome to the forum,

As you wrote that you are looking for a program that focuses on number sense, so I would conclude that your daughter has a number sense difficulty?
Though it is important to understand what number sense actually is?
While we concieve of letters and words with our sense of hearing.
We use our sense of ‘spatial thinking’ to concieve of different sized quantities. Where it spatially forms and recognizes groups in our mind.
To understand number sense, perhaps you could count some objects close to each other, and observe how you count them?
You will probably find that you can instantly recognize groups of 2,3 or 4 objects, without having to count them.
But with 5 or more objects, it wont be instant.

Where you might compare the difference between counting less 5 objects and more than 5 objects?
But with 5 or more objects, you probably wont count them ‘one by one’, but add them as groups?

Though number sense, is actually the ability to use spatial thinking, to instantly form and recognize groups of 2,3 or 4 in the mind.
But when people have a number sense difficulty, their spatial thinking doesn’t instantly recognize groups of 2,3 or 4.
So that it is important to understand if your daughter actually has a number sense difficulty, and can’t concieve of 2,3 and 4 as groups?
