Penpals

Submitted by an LD OnLine user on

Hello Everyone,

I am a special education teacher for 4th and 5th graders who have learning disabilities, ADHD or speech impairments. I am looking for another class to become penpals with. I have 14 students who would be participating. Of course that number may change several times. I have a few students who are willing to write more than one letter if you have fewer students. We live in upstate NY near the Canadian border.

Let me know if you are interested.

Sorry i am not a teacher and i don’t have a class. But, i have ADD and dyslexia. I am all grown up now. I live well hehehe… nowhere at the moment. (I own property in Arlington MA, i was living in Manitoba with my now husband, who holds a PHD in theoretical physics. We will be leaving for our next post doc gig to Vienna in about a month. Sooo for this month, i have no home…. horrible… I am looking for a nice summer rental here in the Boston Area.)

Anyway, i am a student of Egyptology with a loooong history of studying music. I couldn’t spell my own first name till i was 10. I am fluent now in a number of languages as well as being trained as an epigrapher and being fluent in both modern western music notation and that of the ancient greeks. If i can be of use some how….. I would love to. Being labeled, you go through so so so much. It is important for kids to have a grown up who knows and who can steer them in the right direction to teach them to compensate. I doubt i can be of any use but if there is some way i can be used for such a purpose, i am all in!

I will think about how you can help. Possibly as a long distance mentor to one or two students. Let me know if you have any ideas.
