: mile!: Does anyone know of good websites that have social studies andCould you scan the literature you are using at the 5th grade level and have the children who have difficulty reading it, listen to it on the computer-via hdphones? This way, they have the same literature, can follow along with the text-as best as they are able, and are learning a strategy/modification that can follow them throughout their HS/college yrs. We use a basic text scanner and the Intelitalk software, but I am sure there are other methods available. check the technology site. We have JrHi/HS teachers scan their study guides, wksheets, assessments, notes, etc. for some of our poor readers, higher cognitive kids. For some of our students, it creates a wonderful independence. Good luck-
