: I am VERY concerned about a new drug on the market for ADD/ADHD
: called Concerta. I have seen two of my students acting extrememly
: peculiar while on this drug. One of them told me he didn’t like
: the thoughts he was having and he described them as violent. The

: have a very bad feeling about this new drug. SarahHaving ADD myself (I’m 24) I can tell you that any of the meds used to trear ADD/HD could have these side effects. It all depends on the how the person taking it responds to it. Any time a negative side effect occurs it should be brought to the doctors attention. Sometimes the side effects will go away when your body adjust but not always. Becaus “stimulant” meds have such a short time they stay in you system weighing the pros and cons of taking it should also be considered. There are many options no one should have to deal with bad side effects in order to achieve appropriate treatment.
