Does anyone know the numbers of the IDEA regulations which say who has the authority to call an IEP meeting, one which would be before the annual review. Per se you were a special education teacher and you felt the goals weren’t working, do you as a teacher have the right to CALL a meeting? Where is this indicated in the regulations? What is the frequency that an IEP meeting can be called? My hypothesis is that a parent or teacher can call a meeting any time, but I can’t find it in my regulations. Sure a team meeting can be called at any time. You just have to have at least a review within one year. I don’t have time to hunt through the regs, but this is pretty much common knowledge.
