I am currently considering a career as a Special Ed Teacher in a Resource classroom. I would like feedback on what qualities a good Special Ed Teacher would possess. I really feel I would be good at this, but having not performed in this career, I am unsure. I would appreciate any feedback.
Patience, patience,patience
Ability to think “out of the box” when it comes to teaching strategies
ability to multitask
genuinely caring for each child
being able to see past the negatives to the positives
being willing to keep on learning
ability to stay calm in the face of a child’s frustration.
