stop the censoring here!

I posted a new topic a few days ago regarding ADHD and medications. My stance was basically against. Why was this post removed?

It is suspicious that those of us who are anti-medication and anti-overdiagnosis of ADHD are not allowed to speak. It makes me wonder who is behind these boards?

I saw it, I clipped it. I do not think that it was either anti-drug or anti-diagnosis per se, but it did highlight how some areas may have problems with over-diagnosis and/or over use of medications.

Some people think I am anti-medication, which is not true. I do believe however that medications like stimulants, SSRI’s and neuroleptics need to be used responsibly, and that adverse reactions need to be watched, properly reported and openly discussed (informed consent requires honest information, yes?)

Whomever was doing the post removal used a rather wide blade I think to weed out the few posts which may have needed to be deleted. Let us hope that the triggering reason for this has passed.

Your comment to me “bizarre” was deleted and I complained that it should NOT have been deleted. Thank you for your thoughts. My pediatrician said some autistic children have skin discolorations or such that show up under black light. Nevertheless, our experiences with both the medical and educational community have been upsetting and useless. So we are going it alone and doing quite well. A higher power guides us and so far, so good.

Let me try this a second time (I posted and it did not show up). Your post to me “bizarre” was deleted and I complained that it should not have been deleted. Our pediatrician said that some forms of autism show a skin discoloration or such that is revealed by black light. Anyway the medical and educational communities have been useless and upsetting when it comes to helping our son. We have chosen to go it alone and form our own alliances. So far, so good.

Try posting anti-medication information and see what happens. Maybe they will have the courage to allow it but I doubt it.

and test the new moderated system to see if a scientific study conducted by a legitimate research team is deemed appropriate for this brave, new board?

Hi, anne-marie.

I may know what happened to your post.

Very early on May 16, this board was spammed with 10 or 12 copies of a Duke study. The Thread titles varied but were alway “Duke Study” or “New Study at Duke” or “Read this Duke Study” etc. Same study over and over. The study it self was okay but I didn’t appreciate that fact that they were posted under my user name, especailly as there were mutiply other insulting posts under my name that night. I asked the moderators to delete all these posts and I’ve bet yours got accidently deleted as well.

Sorry ‘bout that.
