My daughter is having a nuero psych evaluation and I am scheduled to go to the parents only meeting on the 19th. Can anyone tell me what to expect and what information they will ask? She is seeing a Dr. Marsha Gabriel out of Cooks Childrens Hospital in Fort Worth Texas. Has anyone seen her? My daughter is 6 and doing well in kindergarten but has a midline defect of the brain(Partial Agenesis of the Corpus Collasum) and is having some difficulties with auditory things such as sequencing and needs lots of repetition. She is reading well and is keeping up with the class so I am not sure if it is a maturity thing or a disability. She was also born 16 1/2 weeks premature and had two Grade IV bleeds and they told us she would be a vegetable or have severe Cerebral Palsey. Boy did she prove them wrong. Anyway, I would appreciate any help you could give me.

Re: Questions about Neuro Psych Evaluation
Hi, Andra.
We are in the middle of an nuero psych evaluation for our 12 year old son. We have a completely different set of issues/concerns than you so our parents meeting may be totally different than what you experience.
We were asked the normal questions about developmental milestones, extensive questions regarding family history going back several generations, questions on what his normal day would look like, qustions on what an abnormal day would like like, and what our concerns were.
Good luck,
Barb
Incredible, I tutor a little one who was born at 23 weeks gestation. This youngster is blind and severely to almost profoundly mentally retarded (I’m not kidding), has little language at 7, not potty trained. also suffered a bleed or two early on.
You are very, very fortunate. Bleeds do cause brain damage. This child has that corpus callosem (sp?) thing you mentioned, too. You are really, really lucky. Subtle things can make very large differences.
