The child I work with has dyspraxia and he has trouble with writing, sometimes he uses the computer but he finds it very hard to read and write from the board. He loses his place in what he is writing down from the board…. he also writes in a slope I am doing some work with him to practice writing on dot to dots but need extra help as he is getting bored with dot to dot letters any ideas>? Anyone??
Dot to dot letters are really really an ineffective way to teach writing.10 years from now you may get a kid to do dot to dot letters. Go get a program called Handwriting Without Tears. (http://www.hwtears.com) I would also do a search and look up handwriting or dysgraphia. Victoria has written a lot fo good things about handwriting as well.
Also keep going on the keyboarding, but handwriting (at least some manuscript) is quite an important skill.
