We have a free program here that does quick assessments that basically let you know what direction to take as far as Doctors and other supports. This assessment was offered. I explained the situation of my son and this was offered so that my Doctor will have a better idea as to who to send us to for any further assessment if necassary.

I have never heard of that assessment, but I wouldn’t be consulting a medical doctor if the child is having learning problems in most cases. But perhaps you are not in the US and that is the way your referrals work.

In order to see specialists here, we need a referral from our GP. Unless you wait for the schools to do an assessment which could takes a long time.

I see. Then I suppose it is a screening test for the purpose of referral, but I do not think that is a test used in the US, or not commonly.
