Hiya Janet, im also in the uk and have had concerns about my son who is now 12 for the past 6/7 years.
I was just wondering have you contacted your own GP about your 9yr old son as he/she can refer you to the specialist. Also have you contacted the educational pyscologist who can do an assessment on his learning abilities? I did both of these when my son was 9 and found out that he does have a learning disability which believe me has made life so much easier because i can now try and understand things better. He is now in high school and has not shown much progress so once again we are going through the process of seeing the specialist and having another assessment done on him by the educational physocologist. I now have concerns that he could have ADD and Dyslexia.
