How stress affects children with LD?

Submitted by an LD OnLine user on

Hello
My name is Melissa and I am in nursing school going for my bachelor’s and I am doing a paper on if normal stress in homes causes an extraordinary level of stress in homes of children with learning disabilities. I would appreciate it if anyone had any information or opinions (if you have a learning disabled child). Thank You very much.

My daughter is 10, 5th grade, she takes concerta due to CAPD. I don’t think she is stressed. She is very young and just wants to play, and do well in school. But, she doesn’t get stressed out or upset if she doesn’t do well. She is doing well, some days better than others. But, in general her progress is good. I don’t think she really knows stress yet.
