Due Process File/Folder

Submitted by an LD OnLine user on

I am again trying to put my son back in high school,he will be starting the 10th grade.I contacted the Sped Director about it,and she basically, told me that I would have to re-enroll him and that the committee will have to look at his due process file to determine his appropriate placement.I asked her what was a due process file, she told me it was a formal name for my sons sped file/folder.I have never heard of it being called this before, have you guys?Should I be concerned?

Due process refers to a Due Process hearing, to resolve disputes with a school.
But you don’t seem to have filed for Due Process, so their is no due process file?
So that it is really a wrong use of the term.
Given that they dismissed most of the recommendations on your 2 page list.
It could be an indication that a Due Process hearing would be required, to get them to implement the recommendations?
