The Beach

I gazed out across the beach.
The sand felt smooth and hot.
Under my feet the sand had little rocks that stung my feet.
I saw a hot dog stand beside the pool house.
Then, I cupped my ears and heard the waves.
It sounded like airplanes flying over my head real fast.
